April Runciman, Integrative and Transpersonal Counsellor
I am a professionally trained counsellor based in East Bristol, working with neurodivergent
individuals (ADHD, Autistic, and AuDHD) and those impacted by neurodiversity. I bring a
consistent neuro-affirmative lens to my practice, helping clients heal, discover new ways of
living, and develop strategies uniquely suited to their needs.
Together, we can:
● Address emotional triggers such as anger outbursts, boundaries, and people-pleasing
● Identify, name, and acknowledge emotions (develop neuroception)
● Understand and untangle relationship challenges
● Explore sensory needs and how they impact daily life
● Receive support in parenting a neurodivergent child
I also specialise in helping people:
● Identify their unique neurodivergent characteristics
● Liberate themselves from self-judgment and shame
● Trust themselves and shape lives that fit their neurotype
● Prepare for and process pre- and post-assessments
Beyond my specialism in neurodiversity, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life
transitions, address anxiety, and overcome feelings of stuckness.
Since 2011, I have gained extensive experience in the private healthcare sector and undertaken
comprehensive training in therapeutic and holistic practices. This journey has shaped the
compassionate, integrative approach I bring to my counselling work today, where I offer a safe
and supportive space for clients to explore their challenges and strengths.
I currently offer in-person sessions at Sycamore House on Thursdays and Fridays and online
sessions Tuesdays and Wednesdays. My practice is rooted in empathy, understanding, and
providing the tools and insights clients need to create meaningful, fulfilling lives.
If you feel impacted by neurodiversity directly or indirectly I would like to hear from you. No
formal diagnosis is required to access support.
