For some, getting counselling is what you do when you’re at the end of your tether, my hope is that people engage with counselling before they get to the end of their tether. If you feel you’re already there, or you've managed to clock it before reaching it, I want to be there for you.
I have worked with people who have life limiting conditions, people near the end of life, people who have battled with their faith, church and other religions or no religion. I have worked with people who need to talk about their family, their low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and other mental health struggles. I have worked with people at many different life stages. Whatever your issue, I work in a humanistic person-centred way and as necessary, I integrate other aspects of other approaches according to the needs of the client.
Together we can explore your values, hopes and needs.
Sometimes it’s hard to find someone who will listen without their opinions, advice and prejudices. Counselling is a confidential, non-judgemental, safe and honest space to help you start to unpack what has happened, what is happening and find a way to move forward that feels right for you.
Authenticity is a high value of mine and I want to help you find the true you in whatever circumstance or mindset you’re going through.
You're welcome to have the first session on the phone to hear what I'm like. I know that picking a counsellor is an important decision and can be quite daunting. There's no pressure to commit without sussing me out first. It’s important to find a counsellor that suits your needs so like I’ve said, you don’t need to continue with me if it doesn’t feel right, however, I will say, sometimes it takes time to settle into counselling. The first session will be more of an initial assessment so we can discuss what you want from counselling in terms of your goals. This time is also to make clear of how we will work together, what counselling is and isn't, and to get to know each other a little bit. This initial session will cost £20 and can last the full 50 minutes or less.
